This is a 3.7V, 800mAh Li-ion battery for the Aastra 420d business cordless handset. It replaces OEM part D1763-0000-02-03 directly. If your handset is dropping calls, losing charge fast, or refusing to power on, the original cell has degraded and this is the swap.
- Aastra 420d handset fit: The 420d runs a single-cell 3.7V Li-ion pack with a specific connector footprint and BMS communication line that the base station reads during charging. This cell matches that voltage rail and physical format so the base station handshake completes correctly.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the 420d's base station charger and confirmed the BMS accepted charge from flat, held voltage through a full talk session, and reported status accurately to the base unit. No false charge errors triggered.
- First charge on a Li-ion cordless pack: After fitting this battery, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full charge cycle before first use. Li-ion cells shipped in storage mode can present a lower initial voltage — letting the base complete a full uninterrupted charge cycle brings the cell to rated capacity from the start.
Talk time shorter than expected after fitting the new battery
A new Li-ion cell can take two to three full charge-discharge cycles before it reaches its rated 800mAh capacity. This is normal — the electrolyte chemistry stabilises across the first few cycles. If talk time is still noticeably short after three full cycles, check that the handset is seated flush in the base during charging. A poor contact at the charging pins delivers an incomplete charge and the BMS terminates early, leaving the cell at 80–90% rather than full 4.2V.
Base station shows no charge light after battery swap
If the base unit shows no charging indicator when the handset is docked with the new battery, the cell voltage is likely below the base station's acceptance threshold after storage. Li-ion packs in extended storage can drop below 3.0V, and some charger circuits won't initiate a charge cycle at that level. Remove the handset, wait 30 seconds, and re-dock it firmly — this resets the base station's charge controller. If the indicator still doesn't light, use a multimeter to confirm battery terminal voltage is above 2.8V before concluding there is a charger fault.
