Acer Aspire One 14 Z1402 Series — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (18650-00-01-3S1P-0)
This is a 10.8V, 2200mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Acer Aspire One 14 Z1402 notebook. It fits the Z1402, 1402-394D, Z1402-C6UV, and related models in that lineup. It replaces OEM part numbers 18650-00-01-3S1P-0 and NC4782-3600.
- Z1402 series compatibility: These models share a 3S1P cell configuration on a 10.8V rail with a common connector and BMS handshake protocol. Swapping within this series does not require firmware changes or connector adapters.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on a Z1402 unit. The BMS reported state-of-charge accurately after two calibration cycles, and the protection circuit responded correctly to both over-current and low-voltage cutoff thresholds.
- First-cycle reset procedure: After installing, run one full discharge until the laptop hibernates on its own, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that commonly appears after a cell swap on this platform.
Why the Z1402 BIOS reports poor battery health immediately after replacement
The Aspire One 14 stores battery health data in the EEPROM of the original cell's BMS. When a new cell goes in, the BIOS reads a blank or mismatched EEPROM and flags the battery as degraded before a single charge cycle runs. This is a data mismatch, not a cell fault. Running one full discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted charge gives the BIOS enough cycle data to rewrite its health estimate. After two to three full cycles, the reported health figure stabilises.
Laptop shuts down at 20–30% charge shown on screen
This happens when the fuel gauge IC hasn't yet calibrated against the new cell's actual voltage curve. The gauge inherits the old cell's discharge profile and calls shutdown too early. The fix is to let the laptop discharge fully to hibernate-cutoff — not a manual shutdown — then recharge to 100% twice consecutively. After those two calibration cycles, the gauge tracks the new cell accurately and the early-shutdown behaviour stops.
