Acer Iconia Smart S300 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BAT-510)
This is a 3.7V, 1500mAh Li-ion cell for the Acer Iconia Smart S300 smartphone. It replaces OEM part BAT-510 and matches the original voltage and form factor. Fit the cell when the original battery no longer holds charge or causes unexpected shutdowns.
- Iconia Smart S300 fitment: The S300 uses a single-cell 3.7V pack with a 1S1P configuration — the BMS handshake and connector pinout are matched to the original BAT-510 spec. Swapping to a cell with a different voltage rail or connector will cause the device to reject the battery entirely.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the S300 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, charge current stepped down correctly at CV transition, and the fuel gauge IC tracked state of charge through a complete cycle.
- Fuel gauge recalibration after install: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC build a new discharge curve against the replacement cell before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Iconia Smart S300
This is a voltage cliff — the cell voltage drops sharply under display or modem load before the fuel gauge reads zero. The coulomb counter was calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve and doesn't match the new cell's steeper drop-off. Run one full discharge to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without unplugging early. After that cycle, the fuel gauge IC maps the correct cut-off voltage and shutdown behaviour stabilises.
Iconia Smart S300 not powering on after the battery sat in storage
Li-ion cells in long-term storage self-discharge. If the cell drops below approximately 2.5V, the BMS enters lockout to prevent damage and will not pass current to the device. The S300 will appear completely dead — no boot, no charge indicator. Connect the original Acer charger and leave it connected for at least 20–30 minutes before attempting to power on; the BMS needs a trickle current at a safe threshold before it re-enables the charge path and allows the cell to recover to a functional voltage.
