- A1-830 series compatibility: All A1-830 variants share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and 3.7V charging rail. The BMS handshake is identical across these sub-models, so the same cell works across the full range without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on an A1-830 unit. The BMS accepted the cell without flags, charge termination triggered correctly at full voltage, and the protection circuit responded normally to load transitions from the display and wireless stack.
- Fuel gauge calibration after install: After fitting this battery, run the tablet down to automatic shutoff, then charge it uninterrupted to 100%. This forces the fuel gauge IC to recalibrate against the new cell's actual capacity curve and corrects the inaccurate percentage readings that appear after a swap.
Why the Iconia A1-830 shuts down between 15% and 25% remaining
The A1-830 runs display backlight and Wi-Fi simultaneously at moderate load. This combined draw creates a voltage sag that the fuel gauge IC misreads as a critically low state-of-charge. The protection circuit triggers a shutdown before the cell is actually empty. One full discharge-to-shutoff cycle followed by a complete uninterrupted charge recalibrates the IC and shifts the cutoff point back to the correct voltage threshold.
Fast charging unavailable after battery swap on the A1-830
The A1-830's charge IC runs a negotiation sequence when it first sees a new cell. Until that sequence completes across one full accepted charge cycle, the device defaults to standard charge rates rather than faster input. This is a charge controller behaviour, not a fault with the replacement cell. Plug into the original Acer adapter, let it charge uninterrupted to 100%, and the faster charge rate will be available from the next session. Do not interrupt the first charge before it terminates naturally.
