Phone feels warm near the battery during the first charge after replacement
A new Li-ion cell fresh from storage has higher internal impedance than a cell that has been cycled. The Liquid Z3's charge IC compensates by running slightly higher voltage at the contacts, which generates more heat until impedance drops after the first full cycle. This is normal and temporary — surface temperature should stay below 40°C. If the phone stays hot past the second charge cycle, check that the replacement cell dimensions match (75.80 × 49.80 × 4.10mm) and that the connector is fully seated with no bent pins.
