- Liquid Z530, Z530S, and T02 compatibility: All three models share the same battery bay dimensions (74.65 × 60.05 × 4.00mm), the same 3.8V nominal voltage rail, and the same connector pinout. The BMS on each variant handshakes with the same charge IC, so one cell covers all three without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the Z530 platform. The BMS held the charge termination voltage correctly, the protection circuit tripped within spec on overcurrent, and the fuel gauge IC accepted the new cell without throwing a fault flag.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle at standard rate. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell — preventing erratic percentage readings from the start.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Liquid Z530 after a cell swap
The Z530's fuel gauge IC holds a discharge curve learned from the original cell. When a new cell is installed, the stored curve no longer matches the actual voltage-versus-capacity profile of the replacement. Under modem or display load, the phone hits a voltage point the IC misreads as safe — then the cell dips below the BMS cutoff threshold and the phone shuts off instantly. One full slow-charge cycle without fast charging lets the coulomb counter re-anchor its end-point voltage to the new cell. After that cycle, shutdowns at 20–30% typically stop.
Phone warm near the battery during the first few charges after replacement
A new lithium-polymer cell has slightly higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell. The charge IC on the Z530 pushes the same charge current regardless, so more energy converts to heat until the cell completes a few formation cycles. This is normal and the temperature should drop after two to three full cycles. If the phone stays warm beyond that point, check that the replacement cell is seated flat against the chassis — any air gap under the cell reduces heat dissipation through the back cover.
