The BL-L1230 is a 3.7V, 1250mAh Li-ion cell that powers Airis portable GPS navigators including the T610, T620, T920, and T920A. It replaces the original pack when the unit fails to hold a charge or shuts off unexpectedly during navigation. Voltage and capacity match the original Airis spec exactly.
- T610 / T620 / T920 series fit: These models share the same battery bay dimensions, 3.7V supply rail, and BL-L1230 connector footprint. One cell covers all four units without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and full-load discharge with the GPS receiver and display both active. The BMS held stable voltage delivery and tripped cutoff cleanly at the low-voltage threshold without unexpected drops mid-session.
- First fix after battery swap: After fitting this cell, power the T610 on outdoors and let it run a cold-start satellite acquisition before driving. A cold start can take 5–10 minutes for first lock — subsequent warm starts drop to under a minute once the almanac is cached.
GPS accuracy reduced at low battery on the T610
When cell voltage drops below roughly 3.5V, some Airis GPS units scale back receiver sensitivity to protect remaining charge. The unit stays on and shows a map, but satellite count drops and position drift increases. Users often blame firmware or signal, but the cause is battery voltage. Fitting a fully charged BL-L1230 restores full receiver sensitivity immediately.
T610 shuts off without warning before the battery indicator hits empty
The on-screen fuel gauge on these navigators is calibrated against the original cell's discharge curve. A degraded or replacement cell with a slightly different curve will hit the BMS low-voltage cutoff before the indicator shows one bar. The unit powers off abruptly with no warning. Run two full charge-discharge cycles after fitting the BL-L1230 — the gauge recalibrates against the new cell's curve and low-battery warnings return to normal timing.
