Albrecht Bambini Replacement Battery - Replaces TBP-1004B

Why this battery

  • Fits Albrecht Bambini, Reer 50133, and Tectalk Float handhelds; replaces OEM part TBP-1004B.
  • 3.7V Li-Polymer cell with 1000mAh capacity delivers steady voltage during transmit bursts and receive cycles.
  • Battery slides into the radio slot with a spring-clip locking tab; connector is proprietary two-pin inline.
  • We ran full charge and PTT cycles on a Bambini unit; BMS accepted handshake without fault and held voltage under sustained RF.
  • On first insertion into the charger dock, if a fault LED appears, remove the battery and wipe the contact strip clean with a dry cloth, then reseat firmly — the radio platform requires a clean contact cycle to accept the new BMS before charging begins.

About this replacement

Albrecht Bambini — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (TBP-1004B)

This is a 3.7V, 1000mAh Li-Polymer battery for the Albrecht Bambini, Reer 50133 Care and Talk, and Tectalk Float handheld two-way radios. It replaces OEM part number TBP-1004B. The slim 52 × 34.70 × 5.20mm profile fits the original battery compartment without modification.

  • Bambini, Reer 50133, and Tectalk Float compatibility: These three handsets share the same 3.7V single-cell Li-Polymer architecture, identical connector pinout, and matching BMS voltage thresholds — so one pack covers all three platforms without any wiring changes.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through transmit-load pulls and monitored BMS cutoff behaviour under PTT spike current. The protection circuit responded correctly at both over-current and low-voltage thresholds with no spurious lockouts.
  • First insertion on the Bambini dock: If the charging indicator does not respond on first insertion, remove the pack, wipe the contact strip with a dry cloth, and reseat firmly. The dock requires a clean contact cycle to complete the BMS handshake before charge current flows.

Why the Bambini cuts out mid-transmission on a new TBP-1004B

A new Li-Polymer cell ships at storage voltage — typically 3.6–3.7V — not at full charge. When the PTT button is pressed, transmit current spikes sharply. If cell voltage is already at the low end of the storage range, that spike can push the BMS below its undervoltage cutoff, dropping the radio mid-transmission. This is not a faulty pack. Charge the battery fully before the first transmit session — the BMS cutoff threshold on this platform sits around 3.0V per cell.

Bar indicator showing fewer bars than expected after fitting the TBP-1004B

The Bambini reads battery level through simple voltage-threshold steps, not a fuel gauge chip. A new pack at storage voltage will display one or two bars even though the cell is not depleted. This is a voltage-threshold mismatch, not a capacity problem. Charge the battery until the dock indicator shows full, then power on the radio — the bar display will reflect actual charge state from that point forward.
