Alcatel EE120 — 3.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (TLi043C7)
This 3.8V 4300mAh Li-ion battery replaces the TLi043C7 cell in the Alcatel EE120 portable WiFi hotspot. It fits the EE120 directly and restores full capacity when the original cell has degraded. Voltage and physical dimensions match the OEM spec: 56.72 × 52.56 × 11.60mm.
- EE120 hotspot fit: The EE120 uses a single-cell 3.8V Li-ion pack with a dedicated BMS that monitors cell voltage and current draw across both the cellular modem and the WiFi radio simultaneously. Any replacement must meet the same voltage rail and connector pinout — this cell does.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery under combined modem and WiFi load — eight connected clients, cellular active — and confirmed the BMS held stable voltage without triggering a low-voltage cutoff or a false thermal shutdown.
- Ventilation during extended sessions: Keep the EE120 in an open, ventilated spot when running for long periods. When connected devices are far from the hotspot, the cellular radio runs at full transmit power — the extra heat directly accelerates cell degradation over time.
Why the EE120 drops all connected devices mid-session
When the EE120 serves multiple clients at once, the modem and WiFi radio pull current at the same time. If the battery's internal resistance has risen — common in aged cells — voltage sags briefly under that combined draw. The BMS reads this sag as an under-voltage event and cuts output to protect the cell, dropping every connected device instantly. A fresh cell with lower internal resistance keeps voltage above the BMS cutoff threshold even at peak load.
EE120 shows battery icon but won't complete boot after sitting unused
If the EE120 has been stored for weeks with a depleted battery, the cell voltage can drop below the minimum boot threshold — typically around 3.0V for this chemistry. The device may show the battery indicator briefly then shut off before the OS loads. Connect the hotspot to a charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes before attempting to power on; the charger circuit needs to bring the cell above 3.2V before the BMS will allow a full boot sequence to proceed.
