Why the EVO 7 shuts down at 15–25% battery remaining
The EVO 7 runs its display backlight and WiFi radio simultaneously under normal use. That combined load pulls more current than the processor alone, and an aged or freshly swapped cell hits a voltage floor earlier than the fuel gauge expects. The system reads enough percentage left but the actual cell voltage drops below the BMS cutoff threshold under that peak draw. After the recalibration cycle described above, the shutoff point typically shifts back down to 3–5%.
EVO 7 battery percentage jumping or reading 0% immediately after swap
The fuel gauge IC in the EVO 7 stores capacity data calibrated to the old cell. When a new cell goes in, the IC has no valid reference point and can report wildly off percentages — including instant 0% or a stuck reading. This is not a fault with the replacement cell. Run one full discharge to automatic shutoff, then charge to 100% without interruption. After that single cycle the gauge IC recalibrates and percentage accuracy returns to normal.
