Alcatel One Touch Idol 3 4.7 — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (TLp020K2)
This 3.8V, 2000mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the original battery in the Alcatel One Touch Idol 3 4.7. It fits the OT-6039, OT-6039S, and OT-6039K variants, along with four additional sub-models. Capacity matches the factory spec at 7.6Wh.
- OT-6039 series compatibility: All OT-6039 variants share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One cell covers the full range without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on an OT-6039 unit. The BMS accepted the cell cleanly, thermal output during charge stayed within normal range, and the fuel gauge IC completed its first calibration pass without error flags.
- First-cycle fuel gauge reset: After installing this cell, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge to 100% uninterrupted. This gives the fuel gauge IC a clean discharge curve to calibrate against the new cell before high-current cycles begin.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Idol 3 4.7 after a cell swap
The Idol 3's fuel gauge IC retains the discharge curve of the old, degraded cell after a swap. When the new cell hits a voltage point the IC associates with imminent cutoff on the old cell, it triggers shutdown — even though real capacity remains. The fix is one full uninterrupted discharge-to-shutdown followed by a full charge. After that cycle, the coulomb counter resets its reference and the shutdown behaviour stops.
Phone warm near the battery during the first charge after replacement
A fresh Li-Polymer cell has higher internal impedance than a cell that has been cycled. The charge IC on the OT-6039 pushes current at its standard rate regardless, and higher impedance means more heat dissipated inside the cell. This is normal for the first one to three charge cycles and resolves as impedance drops with use. If the phone stays warm beyond three full cycles, check that the charge port is clean and that no third-party charger is exceeding 5V input.
