Alcatel One Touch Link Y900 Series — 3.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (TLi036A1)
This is a 3800mAh, 3.8V Li-ion replacement battery for the Alcatel One Touch Link Y900 portable WiFi hotspot. It fits the Y900, Y900NB, One Touch Link 4G+, and One Touch Link 4G+ LTE. It slots directly into the original battery bay and connects to the device's onboard BMS.
- Y900 and Y900NB compatibility: These models share the same 3.8V power rail, battery footprint, and BMS handshake protocol. The TLi036A1 part number covers the entire Y900 platform — the connector pinout and charge termination voltage are identical across all variants.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this battery under a combined modem and 4G radio load simulating six connected clients. The BMS held charge termination at 4.35V and did not trip under sustained draw. Capacity read within 3% of rated on discharge.
- Ventilation during extended sessions: Keep the hotspot on an open surface, not inside a bag or pocket, during long sessions. The cellular radio runs at maximum output when connected devices are far away or signal is weak — that heat buildup accumulates at the battery and accelerates cell degradation over time.

The Y900 draws current from two sources simultaneously — the 4G/LTE modem and the WiFi radio. At maximum connected clients, combined draw can spike sharply, causing a brief voltage sag. If the BMS interprets that sag as a low-cell event, it will cut output to protect the cells, dropping all connected devices instantly. A degraded or counterfeit cell with high internal resistance triggers this at lower loads. This replacement uses cells rated for the Y900's peak draw profile, which keeps the BMS from tripping under normal multi-device load.
Y900 not powering on after sitting unused for several weeks
The Y900's standby current draw is low but continuous — the device slowly depletes the battery even when idle. After weeks of storage, the cell voltage can fall below the minimum boot threshold, typically around 3.0V for this chemistry. At that point the device shows no response on the power button. Connect it to the charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes before attempting to power on — most BMS circuits require a trickle pre-charge cycle to recover a deep-discharged cell before normal charging resumes.
