Alcatel One Touch Pixi 8 9005X — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (TLp032CC)
This 3.7V, 3100mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces the original TLp032CC and TLp032CD cells in the Alcatel One Touch Pixi 8 8.0 3G and Pixi 3 8.0 series tablets, including the 9005X and OT-9005X. It powers the display, processor, and wireless radios at the same voltage and capacity as the factory cell. - Pixi 8 and Pixi 3 8.0 compatibility: Both tablet lines share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol, which is why a single cell covers both. The charge IC on each board expects the same 3.7V nominal voltage and accepts the same cutoff thresholds.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the Pixi 8 platform and confirmed the BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, thermal events, or charge interruptions across multiple cycles.
- Fuel gauge recalibration after swap: After fitting this battery, run one full discharge to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the fuel gauge IC against the new cell's actual capacity curve and clears the inaccurate percentage readings that commonly appear immediately after a battery replacement.
Tablet shutting down at 15–25% remaining after battery swap
The Pixi 8's fuel gauge IC retains calibration data from the old, degraded cell. When a new cell is installed, the IC's voltage-to-percentage map no longer matches the new cell's discharge curve. Under combined display and WiFi load, voltage drops faster than the IC predicts, and the board triggers a low-voltage shutdown before the gauge reaches zero. Running one full discharge cycle to automatic shutoff, followed by a full uninterrupted charge, forces the IC to remap against the new cell. After that cycle, shutdowns at high reported percentages stop.
Fast charging not available after fitting a new battery
Some Pixi 8 units withhold fast charge negotiation until the charge IC has completed at least one accepted charge cycle on the new cell. The IC treats an unrecognised cell as unverified and defaults to standard 5V charging as a precaution. This is not a fault with the battery. Charge the tablet fully once from a low state using the original charger, then reconnect — fast charge capability typically resumes from the second cycle onward.
