Alcatel OneTouch EVO 7 HD / E710 — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (TLP041B2)
This is a 3.7V 4000mAh (14.8Wh) lithium-polymer battery for the Alcatel OneTouch EVO 7 HD and E710 Android tablet. It replaces OEM part TLP041B2, which powers the 7-inch display, WiFi radio, and system board. Fit the new cell when the original no longer holds a useful charge or fails to power the tablet on.
- OneTouch EVO 7 HD and E710 fitment: Both model designations run the same battery bay, connector pinout, and charge IC handshake. TLP041B2 covers both without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the EVO 7 HD board. The charge IC accepted the new cell without fault codes, and BMS protection tripped correctly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold.
- Fuel gauge reset after installation: After fitting this battery, run the tablet down to automatic shutoff under normal screen-on use, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without using the device. This single full cycle re-calibrates the fuel gauge IC against the new cell's actual capacity curve and corrects the inaccurate percentage readings that almost always appear immediately after a swap.
Tablet shutting down at 15–25% remaining after battery replacement
The EVO 7 HD draws combined load from the display backlight, WiFi radio, and CPU simultaneously during normal use. A new cell whose fuel gauge IC hasn't been calibrated yet reports a state-of-charge that doesn't match actual cell voltage under that combined load. When real cell voltage drops below the BMS cutoff threshold, the tablet shuts off even though the percentage shown on screen says 15–25%. One full discharge-to-shutoff cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% re-aligns the IC. After that cycle, shutdowns should track correctly with the reported percentage.
Battery percentage jumping or reading incorrectly after swap
The charge controller IC on the EVO 7 HD stores a learned capacity profile from the previous cell. When a new TLP041B2 goes in, that stored profile no longer matches the new cell's voltage-to-capacity curve, which causes the OS to display incorrect or erratic percentages. This is not a fault with the replacement cell — it's a calibration mismatch. Discharge the tablet fully until it powers off automatically, then charge it in one uninterrupted session to 100%. The fuel gauge IC rewrites its reference curve against the new cell and percentage accuracy returns.
