Amano PIX-200 Replacement Battery - Replaces HK5444

$28.74In stock

Why this battery

  • Fits Amano PIX-200 and PIX-200 DCF time clocks; replaces OEM part HK5444.
  • 12V 2000mAh Ni-MH cell maintains internal clock and attendance memory during power loss.
  • Connector slides straight into the battery slot with a single locking tab on the right side.
  • We bench-tested this pack on the PIX-200 platform; BMS accepted the cell without fault codes and held voltage under clock-backup load.
  • Export all employee attendance records and biometric enrollments before removing the old battery — this clock stores data in battery-backed RAM that erases on full power loss.

About this replacement

Amano PIX-200 / PIX-200 DCF — 12V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (HK5444)

This 12V 2000mAh Ni-MH battery replaces part number HK5444 in the Amano PIX-200 and PIX-200 DCF employee time clocks. It backs up the internal clock and battery-backed RAM that holds attendance records and employee data during power loss. When the original cell depletes, the clock loses time and stored data the moment mains power drops.

  • PIX-200 and PIX-200 DCF compatibility: Both models use the same HK5444 battery specification — identical voltage rail, connector footprint, and BMS handshake. The 70.20 × 49.70 × 28.40mm form factor seats directly in the original battery bay without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through charge, full discharge, and recharge under time-clock load. The BMS held voltage within spec throughout and did not trip on the low-draw RTC and RAM retention circuit.
  • Data export before swap: The PIX-200 stores attendance logs and employee enrollments in battery-backed RAM. Remove power before the new battery is seated and that data is gone. Export all records to your host software first, then swap with mains still connected if your model supports hot-swap — otherwise accept the data loss before cutting power.

Why the PIX-200 loses all employee data after a battery swap

The PIX-200 keeps attendance records and employee profiles in battery-backed SRAM, not flash storage. The moment both mains power and battery voltage drop simultaneously — even briefly — that RAM loses its contents. A depleted original battery provides no buffer during the swap window, so the new battery arrives too late. Always export data to your attendance software before touching the battery, and where possible keep mains power live while swapping.

PIX-200 showing wrong time after a power outage even with a new battery installed

Some PIX-200 units contain a separate coin-cell RTC backup in addition to the main HK5444 pack. The HK5444 handles RAM retention; the coin cell maintains the real-time clock independently. If the clock resets to a wrong date after an outage but your data survived, the coin cell — not the HK5444 — is the depleted component. Open the rear panel and check for a CR2032 or equivalent cell alongside the main battery bay. Replace that coin cell and resync the clock via the admin menu.
