About this replacement
Amazfit GTS 4 Mini — 3.87V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (PL472023)
This is a 3.87V, 270mAh Li-Polymer cell for the Amazfit GTS 4 Mini smartwatch. It replaces OEM part PL472023 and restores power to the watch's fitness tracking, heart rate monitoring, sleep analysis, and notification functions. Swap it in when the original cell no longer holds charge across a normal wear cycle.
- GTS 4 Mini fitment: The GTS 4 Mini uses a compact 22.70 × 20.00 × 4.60mm pouch cell on a 3.87V rail. This replacement matches that footprint and voltage exactly, so the flex connector seats without force and the BMS handshake completes on first boot.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the GTS 4 Mini's charge controller and confirmed the BMS accepted the cell, fuel gauge initialised correctly, and charge termination triggered at the expected cutoff. No error flags on the diagnostic readout.
- Post-swap charge requirement: After fitting the new cell, place the watch on its magnetic charger immediately and run a full charge to 100% before wearing it. The fuel gauge IC on the GTS 4 Mini cannot set an accurate state-of-charge reference without one complete charge cycle from near-zero after a cell swap.
Why the GTS 4 Mini shows 0% immediately after a battery swap
The GTS 4 Mini uses a coulomb-counting fuel gauge IC that tracks charge by integrating current in and out of the cell. When you disconnect the original battery, the IC loses its reference entirely. A fresh cell installed at partial charge looks like an unknown state to the IC, so it defaults to 0% or refuses to display a figure. This is not a fault with the replacement cell. Place the watch on charge immediately after reassembly and let it reach 100% — the IC will recalibrate its full-charge reference at that point and read accurately from then on.
Charge contacts not engaging on the magnetic charger after reassembly
If the watch sits on its charger but the charging icon never appears, the rear cover has likely shifted slightly during reassembly, moving the charge contacts out of alignment with the magnetic pogo pins. Remove the watch from the charger, press the rear cover firmly and evenly until it clicks flush, then re-seat it on the charger. If the icon still does not appear, check the contact pads on the watch back for adhesive residue from the original seal and clean with isopropyl alcohol before re-seating.
