About this replacement
American DJ PinPoint Gobo Series — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery (Z-PIB269)
This is an 11.1V, 2600mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the American DJ PinPoint Gobo, PinPoint Gobo TW, PinPoint Gobo Color, and PinPoint Gobo WW Plus fixtures. It slots into the same bay as the factory pack and restores portable operation when the original cell degrades. OEM part number Z-PIB269.
- PinPoint Gobo family compatibility: All four PinPoint Gobo variants share the same 11.1V three-cell Li-ion architecture and battery bay format. The LED driver and gobo motor draw from a common rail, so one battery spec covers the full lineup — standard, TW, Color, and WW Plus.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on the PinPoint Gobo platform. The BMS held the protection thresholds correctly, with no spurious overcurrent trips during LED driver startup or gobo motor indexing.
- Storage charge for portable stage use: If the fixture sits in a case between events for more than two weeks, drop the battery to approximately 50% charge before storing. Leaving a Li-ion pack fully charged at elevated venue or transport temperatures accelerates capacity fade in the high-capacity cells used here.
PinPoint Gobo dimming before the battery indicator reaches low
The LED driver in the PinPoint Gobo operates in constant-current mode, which demands stable voltage from the battery. As cell capacity fades, internal resistance rises — voltage sags under that constant current draw even when the indicator still reads mid-charge. The fixture interprets the voltage dip as a protection threshold and steps the LED output down. A fresh pack at full charge should hold above 11.0V under load; if yours drops below that during normal output, the cells have degraded past useful range.
Battery not accepted by the fixture after extended storage
A pack left uncharged for several months can drop below the voltage floor the PinPoint Gobo's battery management circuit will accept — typically around 9V for a three-cell 11.1V Li-ion pack. The fixture will show no response or a fault state when the battery is inserted. Connect the pack to a Li-ion charger with a recovery or pre-charge mode and let it trickle up to at least 9.5V before attempting to use it in the fixture. Once the BMS registers a safe cell voltage, normal charging and operation resume.
