The WIFLY BAR QA5 LED driver operates in constant-current mode, which pulls harder on the battery as cell voltage drops under load. A pack with degraded capacity sags below the driver's regulation threshold before the battery indicator registers low — so the fixture steps output down to protect itself while the gauge still shows charge remaining. This is voltage sag, not a faulty indicator. A fresh 22.2V pack at full capacity holds the voltage rail stable enough for the driver to maintain full output through most of the discharge curve.
Battery not recognised by the QA5 after sitting in storage
If a Li-ion pack self-discharges below the fixture's acceptance threshold during storage, the QA5 ballast circuit will not initialise the battery and the unit may appear completely dead. The BMS inside the pack also has its own low-voltage lockout — once cells drop below roughly 2.5V per cell (15V pack total on a 6S), the BMS opens the output and refuses to communicate. Connect the pack to a Li-ion charger that supports a recovery or wake-up mode, allow it to trickle charge until the BMS closes the circuit, then perform a normal charge to 25.2V before reinstalling.
