Archos 101 Core 3G shutting down at 15–25% remaining
This happens because the fuel gauge IC was calibrated to the old, degraded cell. Its voltage-to-capacity curve no longer maps correctly to the new cell, so the OS triggers a shutdown well before the battery is actually empty. The combined load of the display and active WiFi creates a brief voltage sag that the miscalibrated gauge reads as a critically low state. Run one full discharge to automatic shutoff and one uninterrupted charge to 100% — this resets the calibration reference and the premature shutdowns stop.
Fast charging not available after battery replacement on the 101 Core 3G
The charge IC on this tablet negotiates charging parameters during the first accepted charge cycle after a new cell is installed. Until that cycle completes, the device may fall back to standard 5V charging and not engage higher-rate input. This is not a fault with the replacement cell. Charge the tablet from 0% to 100% in a single uninterrupted session using the original Archos charger — after that cycle completes, fast charge negotiation resumes normally at the correct voltage.
