Archos 101B Oxygen — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (GOC 2869141)
This is a 3.8V, 8000mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Archos 101B Oxygen tablet (AC101BOX). It slots into the same bay as the original GOC 2869141 cell and restores power to the display, processor, and app stack. Capacity figures come from the product data: 8000mAh / 30.4Wh.
- 101B Oxygen and AC101BOX compatibility: Both model designations share the same physical bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — they are the same hardware platform under different retail labels. One cell fits both.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the 101B Oxygen chassis. The BMS accepted the cell without fault flags, and the charge IC reached full cutoff at the correct terminal voltage.
- Fuel gauge recalibration after swap: After installation, run one complete discharge to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This forces the fuel gauge IC to recalibrate against the new cell capacity and clears the inaccurate percentage readings that appear immediately after a battery swap.
Archos 101B Oxygen shutting down between 15–25% remaining
The 101B Oxygen pulls a combined load from its IPS display and WiFi radio that can cause a sharp voltage sag in the lower charge range. When cell voltage drops below the BMS cutoff threshold under that combined draw, the tablet shuts off even though the percentage gauge still shows charge remaining. This is a fuel gauge calibration mismatch, not a faulty cell. Run one full discharge-to-shutoff cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% — the gauge IC resets against actual cell voltage curves and the early shutdowns stop.
Fast charging not available on the 101B Oxygen after battery replacement
The 101B Oxygen's charge controller re-evaluates USB-PD or proprietary fast-charge negotiation on the first accepted charge cycle after a new cell is installed. Until that first cycle completes fully, the device may fall back to standard charge rates. This is normal behaviour — not a fault with the replacement cell. Plug into the original Archos charger, let the first charge run from near zero to 100% without interruption, and fast charging resumes on subsequent cycles.
