Archos 43 Vision — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (100531)
This 3.7V, 1600mAh lithium-polymer battery replaces OEM part 100531 in the Archos 43 Vision, 43 Vision EU, and 43 Vision US portable media players. It fits the 4.3-inch screen device that plays video and audio files. Install it when the original cell no longer holds a charge or the player shuts down unexpectedly.
- 43 Vision, EU, and US variants: All three regional models share the same 3.7V single-cell architecture, connector pinout, and BMS handshake, so one battery covers the full lineup without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the 43 Vision platform. The BMS accepted charge current normally and tripped the low-voltage cutoff at the expected threshold without triggering a protection lockout.
- First charge after installation: If the player sat in storage before or after the swap, connect it to the charger for at least 30 minutes before pressing power. The 43 Vision enters a deep-discharge protection state that requires a slow trickle current before the device accepts a normal charge rate.
Battery percentage jumping erratically after a cell swap
The 43 Vision reads battery level by comparing cell voltage against a fixed lookup table stored in firmware. A new cell has a slightly different voltage-to-capacity curve than the worn cell it replaces. The indicator recalibrates over two or three full charge-and-discharge cycles. Run the player down to auto-shutdown, then charge to 100% each time until the percentage display stabilises.
Playback cutting out before the battery indicator reaches empty
The audio amplifier inside the 43 Vision draws a short current spike during playback that the main display circuit does not. As the cell nears the bottom of its discharge curve, voltage sags under that amplifier load before the battery indicator registers low. This causes the player to cut audio and shut down while the percentage still shows a remaining charge. The fix is to let the device run to auto-shutdown once so the firmware anchors the low-voltage threshold to this cell's actual floor voltage.
