Archos 52 Platinum — 3.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (AC52PL)
This is a 3.8V, 2000mAh Li-ion battery for the Archos 52 Platinum smartphone. It replaces part number AC52PL and fits directly into the original battery slot. Use it when the stock cell no longer holds charge through a normal day of calls, messaging, and screen-on time.

- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first installation, disable fast charging if available and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before reporting accurate percentages to the OS.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Archos 52 Platinum
An aged cell loses its ability to hold terminal voltage under load from the modem radio or display backlight. When the phone pulls current during a call or screen wake, the cell voltage collapses below the processor's minimum threshold — the phone shuts down even though the OS reported charge remaining. A fresh cell at 2000mAh restores the flat discharge plateau that keeps terminal voltage stable under those load spikes. After fitting this replacement, run one full discharge cycle so the fuel gauge IC learns the new cell's voltage-to-capacity curve.
Phone not powering on after the battery sat in storage
Li-ion cells that discharge below approximately 2.5V trigger a BMS lockout to prevent damage — the phone will not respond to the power button or show a charging indicator. Connect the phone to a wall charger rated at 5V and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing anything. The charge IC will trickle-feed current to bring the cell above the BMS recovery threshold, typically around 3.0V, after which normal charging resumes and the phone will boot.
