This 3.8V, 3400mAh lithium-polymer cell replaces the original battery in the Archos 64 Xenon Android smartphone. It matches the OEM part number AC64XE and fits the physical dimensions of the Xenon battery bay at 94.70 x 65.86 x 4.50mm. Install it when the original cell no longer holds adequate charge through a normal day of use.
- Archos 64 Xenon fitment: The Xenon uses a single-cell Li-Polymer configuration at 3.8V nominal. This cell matches that voltage rail and the OEM connector orientation so the charge IC and protection circuit communicate correctly with the replacement cell from first power-on.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the Xenon board. The BMS accepted the cell without triggering overcurrent cutoff, and the protection circuit responded correctly to both charge termination and load spikes from screen and modem activity.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After installation, disable any fast-charge mode and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle at standard rate. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter against the new cell's actual discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated state.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Archos 64 Xenon after a cell swap
This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still running the discharge curve it learned from the old, degraded cell. The new cell has a steeper voltage cliff under load — modem transmission or screen brightness spikes pull the voltage below the cutoff threshold while the gauge still reads 25%. The phone shuts down not because the cell is empty, but because the IC has not yet recalibrated to the new cell's internal resistance and voltage profile. One full discharge-to-charge cycle at standard current resolves it; after that cycle the gauge reads within a normal margin.
Archos 64 Xenon shows incorrect battery percentage after replacement
The Xenon's coulomb counter calibrates its percentage model against the old cell's learned capacity — typically a degraded figure well below 3400mAh. A new 3400mAh cell makes that stored model inaccurate, so reported percentage jumps or reads high early then drops sharply. Drain the phone until it powers off on its own, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without removing the charger. That single full cycle writes a new reference point to the fuel gauge IC and stabilises the readout.
