It matches the original dimensions at 119.00 × 100.60 × 3.00mm, fitting directly into the existing battery bay. Voltage and capacity figures are taken from the product specification — 19Wh total energy.
- AC97CPL and 97C Platinum compatibility: Both tablet variants use the same 3.8V power rail, identical connector pinout, and the same BMS handshake protocol — one cell covers both. No hardware modification is needed.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the cell through charge and discharge cycles on the 97C Platinum platform. The BMS accepted the new cell without fault flags, and charge termination triggered correctly at full voltage.
- Fuel gauge recalibration after swap: After fitting this battery, run one full discharge to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This forces the fuel gauge IC to recalibrate against the new cell and clears the inaccurate percentage readings that typically appear after a battery swap.
Tablet shutting down at 15–25% after battery replacement
This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old, degraded cell. The 97C Platinum's combined display and Wi-Fi load creates a voltage draw that the old calibration curve misreads as empty. The tablet cuts power at what it believes is a safe floor, even though charge remains. Running one full discharge-to-shutoff cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% resets the calibration. After that cycle, shutdown should occur below 5%.
Fast charging not available after fitting the new cell
The 97C Platinum's charge IC negotiates charge rate on the first accepted cycle after a new cell is detected. Until that cycle completes, the controller defaults to standard rate as a protection measure. Use the original Archos charger and allow one full charge from near-empty to 100% without interruption. After that session, fast charge negotiation resumes at normal voltage and current levels.
