Aricon M-9000E — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This 7.4V 5200mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original power cell in the Aricon M-9000E portable patient monitor. It fits both the M-9000E and M9000E variants. Capacity is rated at 38.48Wh and matches the voltage rail the device expects from the factory cell.
- M-9000E and M9000E compatibility: Both model designations share the same battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The internal charge management circuit reads cell chemistry and voltage range — this replacement sits within those parameters.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge, load, and BMS query sequences on the M-9000E platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault flags, and the device completed its power-on self-test without error codes on each cycle.
- Post-installation self-test protocol: After fitting this battery, let the M-9000E complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. Medical-grade BMS firmware runs a startup verification sequence — cutting power during that window logs a battery fault that persists until the next clean reboot cycle.
Device not completing boot sequence after battery swap
The M-9000E boot sequence includes a battery qualification check that compares cell voltage against a stored threshold. A new Li-ion cell shipped at partial state of charge may present a resting voltage around 3.6–3.7V per cell, which can sit below the device's minimum boot threshold. Charge the replacement fully before first boot — the pack should read at or above 8.2V at the battery terminals before installation. If the device stalls mid-boot after that, pull the battery, wait 30 seconds, refit, and allow the full POST cycle to complete uninterrupted.
Low battery alarm triggers immediately after a confirmed full charge
This happens because the M-9000E BMS compares charge cycle history against a baseline calibrated to the original OEM cell. A replacement cell with zero cycle history hasn't yet built that baseline, so the BMS applies a conservative capacity estimate and triggers the alarm early. Run one complete charge-to-discharge-to-charge cycle under normal clinical load before relying on the battery status indicator. After that conditioning cycle, the BMS recalibrates its state-of-charge model and the alarm threshold returns to the correct cutoff point.
