Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
This happens when the motor draws more current than the battery can sustain at full voltage — usually triggered by a partially blocked filter or full dustbin. The cell voltage sags under elevated load, and the motor slows before the indicator circuit registers a low-battery state. The indicator reads cell resting voltage, not load voltage, so it lags behind real-world performance. Clear the filter and empty the bin first — if suction recovers, the battery was not the cause.
Motor cuts out mid-use then restarts after a pause
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When the filter is restricted, the motor works harder and draws current above the rated threshold. The BMS cuts power to protect the cell, then resets after the cell temperature drops. The fix is not a new battery — check the filter for blockage and clean it. If the motor cuts out on a clean filter with a new cell, verify the charger output matches the 2.4V Ni-MH requirement before drawing further conclusions.
