Asus 450 / 450C / 450V Series — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (A32N1331)
This is a 10.8V, 4800mAh Li-ion battery pack for the Asus 450, 450C, 450CD, and 450V series notebooks. It replaces OEM part numbers A32N1331, A32N1332, and the 0B110-00280000 family. Install it when the original cell no longer holds a usable charge or fails to power the laptop off the mains.
- 450-series platform fit: The 450, 450C, 450CD, and 450V share the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — which is why a single cell covers all these variants. Voltage rail is 10.8V across the board.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and load cycles on an Asus 450-series unit. The BMS communicated correctly with the EC, charge acceptance hit rated capacity, and the protection circuit tripped at the expected low-voltage threshold without a hard crash.
- Post-install calibration on Asus 450 series: After fitting, run the laptop down to hibernate cutoff under normal use — do not force-shutdown — then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap.
Why the Asus 450 shuts down at 20–30% after a battery swap
A new cell has different internal resistance characteristics than the aged cell the fuel gauge IC was calibrated against. Under full CPU and display load, voltage sags faster than the IC predicts — and the laptop hits the EC's low-voltage cutoff while the gauge still reads 20–30%. This is not a fault in the replacement cell. Running two or three full discharge-to-hibernate and full-charge cycles gives the fuel gauge IC enough data to recalibrate against the new cell's actual discharge curve. After calibration, the gauge and the real remaining capacity realign.
BIOS showing 0% or "Unknown" battery immediately after install
The BIOS reads health and state-of-charge data from the battery's EEPROM on first contact. A new cell ships with EEPROM counters at factory defaults, which the Asus EC can misread as an unrecognised or failed pack. Boot into Windows and let the battery manager initialise — this usually resolves within the first full charge cycle. If the BIOS still reports unknown after one full charge, enter the BIOS setup, navigate to the battery information screen, and save-exit to force a re-read of the pack's EEPROM. Target a full charge to 10.8V before checking again.
