This is a 7.4V, 4400mAh (32.56Wh) Li-ion replacement battery for the Asus Eee PC 701, 701C, 800, and 801, plus fifteen additional Eee PC variants. It uses OEM part numbers A22-700, A22-P701, and 90-OA001B1100. The physical dimensions are 140 x 38 x 40mm — measure your original before fitting if you are unsure which bay revision you have.
- Eee PC 700 and 800 series compatibility: These models share the same 7.4V two-cell battery rail, identical connector pinout, and the same BMS handshake protocol — which is why one cell covers the full range from the 701 through to the 801 variants.

BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after swap on the Eee PC 701
The Eee PC's BIOS reads health data stored in the old cell's EEPROM and compares it against the new cell's reported values. A fresh cell has different charge cycle counters and capacity figures than the worn-out unit it replaced, so the BIOS flags a mismatch as degraded health. This is a firmware interpretation issue, not a cell fault. Running one full discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% rewrites the learn cycle data and clears the warning.
Eee PC shutting down at 20–30% charge shown on the gauge
This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated against the new cell's actual voltage curve. The gauge is still mapping charge percentage to the old cell's degraded curve, so it calls 20–30% where the new cell's voltage actually drops to cutoff. The fix is two to three full discharge-to-hibernate and charge-to-100% cycles — each one tightens the IC's internal map. After the third cycle, the displayed percentage at shutdown should sit below 5%.
