This happens when the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's degraded voltage curve. The charge IC on the MeMO Pad HD 7 runs a negotiation handshake with the battery BMS at the start of each charge session. On a fresh cell, this handshake sometimes fails on the first attempt and the IC falls back to a conservative charge rate. This is not a fault with the replacement cell. Disconnect the charger, wait 30 seconds, and reconnect — most units accept the full charge rate on the second attempt. If it persists, complete one full charge cycle and the negotiation stabilises.
