Asus MyPal A600 Series — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (A600/MBT)
This 3.7V, 2700mAh lithium-polymer cell replaces the factory battery in the Asus MyPal A600 and MyPal A600u pocket PCs. It uses the same OEM part number A600/MBT and fits the original battery bay without modification. Capacity figure comes from the product data — 9.99Wh at 3.7V nominal.
- MyPal A600 and A600u compatibility: Both models share the same battery bay geometry, voltage rail, and connector pinout. The BMS on each unit reads the same cell chemistry, so this single part number covers both variants without adapter or firmware change.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the MyPal A600 platform. The BMS accepted the cell on first insertion, completed a full charge cycle without fault codes, and held voltage within the expected Li-Polymer tolerance band across load.
- RAM data sync before battery removal: The MyPal A600 stores open files, application state, and unsaved data in SRAM powered directly by the main battery. Pull the cell without syncing first and that data is gone. Use ActiveSync or the built-in backup utility to push everything to the host PC before swapping the battery.
Why the MyPal A600 won't boot after a new battery is installed
The MyPal A600 boot sequence requires the battery to supply a minimum voltage threshold before the CPU initialises. A new Li-Polymer cell that has been in storage can drop below 3.2V and fail that check — the device either shows nothing or a brief flash then powers off. This is not a fault with the unit or the cell. Connect the A600 to its charger for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power on, then press the power button once the charge indicator shows activity.
Battery draining faster than expected during wireless sync sessions
The Bluetooth and Wi-Fi radios on the MyPal A600 draw significantly more current than the device uses in standby or basic scheduling tasks. If battery life feels short, the cause is almost always an active wireless session running longer than the user expects — especially background sync set to run at short intervals. Set ActiveSync to manual or increase the sync interval to reduce radio-on time. Check that the wireless adapter is not left enabled after sync completes, as it continues to draw current even with no active connection.
