- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through a full charge cycle on a TF810C unit. The BMS handshake completed correctly, the charge IC accepted the cell without fault codes, and voltage held stable across the display and WiFi load combined.
- Fuel gauge recalibration after swap: After fitting this battery, run one full discharge to automatic shutoff — do not force-shutdown — then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This gives the fuel gauge IC a full voltage reference range against the new cell and corrects the inaccurate percentage readings that commonly appear after a swap.
Tablet shutting down at 15–25% remaining on TF810C
The TF810C runs the display backlight and WiFi radio simultaneously, which creates a combined current draw that causes a fast voltage drop at lower state-of-charge. The fuel gauge IC reads this sag as a critical low-voltage condition and triggers an emergency shutdown before the reported percentage reaches zero. A new cell with full capacity reduces the severity of this sag. After fitting this battery, complete one full recalibration cycle — discharge to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — to give the fuel gauge accurate low-voltage reference points.
Fast charging not available after battery swap on TF810C
The TF810C charge controller negotiates charge rate based on a completed prior charge cycle — it does not immediately accept full charge current on a freshly installed cell. Until the new cell completes one full accepted charge cycle, the tablet may draw at a reduced rate. This is a charge IC behaviour, not a fault with the battery. Plug in using the original Asus charger and allow one uninterrupted full charge to complete — fast charge availability typically restores after that cycle.
