Why the TF600TL shuts down at 15–25% remaining after a battery swap
The TF600TL's fuel gauge IC stores a discharge curve calibrated to the old cell. A new cell with different internal resistance shifts the voltage-to-capacity relationship, so the IC hits its low-voltage cutoff threshold earlier than the displayed percentage suggests. Under combined screen and Wi-Fi load, the voltage sags faster than the gauge expects, triggering an emergency shutoff. Running one full discharge-to-cutoff cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% resets the reference curve. After that cycle, the shutoff threshold aligns with the actual remaining capacity.
TF600TL showing 1% or stuck percentage immediately after installation
This happens because the fuel gauge IC has no valid state-of-charge data for the new cell — it defaults to a floor value or freezes at whatever it last recorded. It is not a fault with the battery. The fix is one complete cycle: discharge the tablet to automatic shutoff, then charge continuously to 100% without interrupting the session. The gauge IC writes a new calibration map during that charge phase. After the cycle completes, the percentage will track normally from 100% down.
