This 21.6V 3400mAh Li-ion battery replaces part AS0114LBB in Autoslide MultiDrive and MultiDrive Sliding automatic door operators. It powers both the control electronics and drive motor during mains failure, keeping the door operational for emergency egress and accessibility compliance. Voltage and capacity match the OEM specification exactly.
- MultiDrive and MultiDrive Sliding compatibility: Both variants run the same 21.6V battery rail and share the AS0114LBB connector and BMS handshake. One battery covers the full range without any modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through full mains-fail simulations on the MultiDrive controller. The BMS held stable voltage across repeated open-close cycles and did not trigger an early low-voltage cutoff under motor-start load.
- Post-install power-fail verification: After fitting, manually trigger a mains-fail test during a low-traffic period. Automatic door backup batteries must complete a full door cycle under real motor load — a resting voltage check alone will not confirm the battery is serviceable.
Battery backup not activating during mains failure on the MultiDrive
The MultiDrive backup circuit only engages when the battery holds sufficient charge for the controller to confirm it can complete at least one full cycle. If the battery has sat unused for an extended period, self-discharge can drop cell voltage below the controller's activation threshold — even if the battery was healthy when last tested. The backup relay will not close, and the door behaves as if no battery is fitted. Charge the replacement battery for a full 24 hours before testing, then run a manual mains-fail cycle to confirm activation.
MultiDrive controller losing door programming after a power outage
The MultiDrive stores door travel limits, speed profiles, and sensor calibration in volatile memory backed by this battery. When the battery depletes fully, that memory loses power — even briefly — and the controller resets to factory defaults on the next mains restore. The door may then fail to complete its open or close stroke because travel limits are gone. After fitting a charged replacement, re-run the auto-setup or manual limit-programming sequence before returning the door to service.
