- Parent unit compatibility across the A014400 series: These models share the same parent unit housing, connector pinout, and 3.7V single-cell BMS architecture — which is why one cell covers all four variants. The BMS handshake is identical across the range.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the parent unit and confirmed the BMS accepted the cell without fault flags. The protection circuit tripped correctly at both the low-voltage cutoff and the charge termination threshold.
- Re-pair after battery swap: When the parent unit loses power completely during a battery change, it drops the wireless link to the camera unit. Parent unit battery draining overnight during active monitoring
Running the parent unit through the night with the screen on is a sustained draw — the LCD backlight, radio receiver, and speaker circuit all pull from the same 3000mAh cell simultaneously. An aged cell with reduced capacity hits the BMS cutoff before morning. This replacement cell restores full capacity, but enabling the screen timeout in the parent unit's display settings will significantly extend each charge cycle. Set the screen to switch off after 30 seconds of no interaction and leave audio-only mode active overnight.

The parent unit's radio transmitter output is voltage-sensitive — if the cell isn't fully charged before first use, the radio runs at reduced power and range suffers. This is a partial-charge issue, not a defective cell. Charge the parent unit to 100% before the first use after fitting this battery. Once at full charge, the radio operates at its rated transmission power and normal range returns.
