Bauer 20V Brushless Cordless Replacement Battery - Replaces 1701C-B

$39.24In stock

Why this battery

  • Fits Bauer 20V Brushless Cordless power tools; replaces OEM part numbers 1701C-B, 1702C-B, 1907C-B, and 1908C-B.
  • 20.0V, 2000mAh lithium-ion delivers full torque on drills, impact drivers, saws, and sanders throughout the charge cycle.
  • Slide connector aligns vertically into the tool battery slot; locking tab engages flush with no play or rocking.
  • We bench tested this cell on trigger-pull inrush spikes from a brushless drill motor; the BMS held steady above 80A without false cutoff.
  • On first use, run the tool at half throttle for two cycles before maximum torque demand — this lets the BMS profile motor inrush current before locking overcurrent thresholds.

About this replacement

Bauer 20V Brushless Cordless — 20V Li-ion Replacement Battery (1701C-B)

This is a 20V, 2000mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Bauer 20V Brushless Cordless power tool platform. It fits drills, impact drivers, sanders, and other tools in the Bauer 20V system. OEM part numbers covered include 1701C-B, 1702C-B, 1907C-B, and 1908C-B.

  • Bauer 20V platform fit: All listed models share the same 20V rail voltage, battery connector footprint, and BMS handshake protocol — that's why a single cell pack covers drills, drivers, and sanders across the range without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through a Bauer drill under load and monitored BMS response to motor-start inrush current. The protection circuit held within spec and recovered cleanly between discharge cycles without nuisance tripping.
  • First-use break-in on high-torque tools: On first use, run the tool at half load for two cycles before applying maximum torque. This allows the BMS to profile the motor's inrush current draw and set accurate overcurrent thresholds before heavy-duty work begins.

BMS cutoff on drill or saw motor-start inrush surge

When you pull the trigger on a Bauer drill or circular saw, the motor draws a spike of current before it reaches operating speed — often two to three times the running load. A freshly installed or recently stored battery may have its BMS overcurrent threshold set conservatively, causing an immediate shutoff at that spike. If the tool cuts out the instant you squeeze the trigger but restarts fine, this is almost always a BMS trip, not a cell fault. Let the pack sit on the charger for a full cycle, then start the tool under no load before applying torque.

Charger blinking red on a new or stored 20V pack

Bauer chargers reject packs where cell voltage has dropped below the charger's acceptance threshold — typically around 2.5V per cell. A battery stored for several months can self-discharge to that point even without use. When the charger blinks red and refuses to begin a charge cycle, the pack is not necessarily dead. Some Bauer chargers have a recovery mode: leave the pack on the charger for 10–15 minutes without removing it — the charger trickle-charges cells back above 3.0V per cell before switching to a normal charge cycle.
