This is a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity defect. When the modem transmits or the backlight fires at high brightness, current draw spikes and the new cell's voltage briefly drops below the emergency cutoff threshold, even though the reported percentage looks healthy. The fix is one complete discharge-to-shutdown followed by an uninterrupted full charge. After that single recalibration cycle, the fuel gauge re-maps the voltage-to-percentage curve against the new cell and the shutdowns stop. Confirm the recalibration worked by checking that the phone reaches 3.7V resting voltage at the 50% mark.
AL560 not powering on after the replacement battery sat in storage
Li-Polymer cells self-discharge in storage, and if the voltage drops below approximately 2.5V per cell, the BMS locks out to prevent damage — the phone will show nothing on screen and may not respond to the charger immediately. Plug the AL560 into a wall charger (not a PC USB port, which may not supply enough current to wake a locked-out BMS) and leave it for 15–20 minutes without pressing any button. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell at a low rate until the BMS re-initialises, after which normal charging begins. If the phone still shows no response after 30 minutes on a wall charger, check that the battery connector is fully seated — an unseated connector is the most common cause after a fresh install.
