This is a 7.2V, 1500mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Beghelli 415391001 emergency lighting unit. It restores backup power to the fitting so exit routes stay illuminated during a mains failure. Capacity matches the original cell at 10.8Wh.
- 415391001 fitting compatibility: The Beghelli 415391001 uses a dedicated charge controller calibrated to the float voltage and charge acceptance curve of a 7.2V Ni-MH pack. Swapping to a different chemistry or voltage causes the controller to misread cell state and either undercharge or refuse to charge altogether.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the cell through a full charge cycle and applied a load consistent with emergency lamp draw. The BMS accepted charge without fault and the cell voltage held within expected range across the discharge curve.
- First-installation test cycle: Within 24 hours of fitting the new cell, hold the test button for the full rated duration. This allows the charge controller to register the new cell's capacity before any scheduled compliance test — a fresh Ni-MH cell from storage may not be at full charge on arrival.
Charge indicator staying red after new battery installation
Beghelli emergency fittings use a float-charge controller that checks incoming cell voltage before switching to a green charge status. A Ni-MH cell shipped from storage can sit at 6.8V or lower, which falls outside the controller's acceptance window. The controller interprets this as a fault rather than a discharged cell. Leave the fitting on mains power for 12–24 hours — once the cell climbs above approximately 7.0V, the controller registers it and the indicator should move off red.
Emergency light dims partway through a duration test
This happens when the replacement cell has not completed a full conditioning cycle before the test is run. A new Ni-MH cell reaches rated capacity only after at least one full charge-discharge cycle. During a duration test, a partially conditioned cell hits its lower voltage threshold early and the lamp output drops. Run one full manual test cycle — charge for 24 hours, then hold the test button for the complete rated period — before logging the result for any compliance record.
