This is a 12V, 1500mAh Ni-MH backup battery for the Besam Cud 9 EMD automatic door opener. It fits the controller unit identified by OEM part number 6013004. When mains power fails, this battery keeps the door's control system and actuator powered so the door can complete its cycle.
- Cud 9 EMD controller fit: The Cud 9 EMD uses a dedicated 12V Ni-MH cell to back up both the logic board and actuator drive circuit. The voltage rail and connector format match the original — no adapters or modifications needed at the battery bay.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through a simulated mains-fail sequence on the Cud 9 EMD controller. The BMS accepted the charge handshake cleanly and the door completed a full open-and-close cycle under load from the backup circuit.

The Cud 9 EMD actuator draws a surge current at the start of every cycle to overcome door weight and seal resistance. If the backup battery is partially discharged, voltage can sag below the controller's cutoff threshold mid-stroke, stopping the door before full travel. This is not a door fault — it is a battery state-of-charge issue. A fully charged 12V Ni-MH cell should hold above 10.5V under actuator load through the entire cycle.
Controller losing door programming after a power outage
The Cud 9 EMD stores door parameters — open speed, hold-open time, obstacle sensitivity — in volatile RAM that relies on the backup battery to retain data during mains loss. If the battery has depleted, a power outage wipes that configuration completely. The controller will revert to default values or show a fault on restart. Fit a fresh battery, allow a full 24-hour charge, then re-enter door parameters via the controller's programming interface.
