This is a 9.6V 1800mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Bissell 1719 Cordless Vacuum Spot and 1719 Stain Cleaner. It slots into the same bay as the original pack and runs the same 9.6V motor rail. OEM part number D-SC1700X8 confirms fitment.
- 1719 and 1719 Stain Cleaner fitment: Both models share the same 9.6V motor rail, connector, and battery bay dimensions. One pack covers both units — no adapters or wiring changes needed.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through multiple charge and discharge runs on a 1719 unit. The BMS held voltage within spec across the full discharge curve and did not trip under sustained motor load with a clean filter installed.
- Dock charging habit on the 1719: The 1719 charger does not cut off automatically when the pack reaches full charge. Leaving the vacuum on the dock permanently allows trickle current to heat the Ni-MH cells over time. Charge to full, then remove from the dock.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
A restricted filter forces the 1719 motor to draw more current to maintain airflow. As draw increases, the 9.6V pack sags under the added load and the motor slows — this reads as suction loss, not battery failure. The battery indicator may still show charge remaining because cell voltage hasn't crossed the low threshold yet. Clean or replace the filter first before assuming the battery is at fault.
Motor cuts out mid-use then recovers after a short pause
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead cell. When suction is partially blocked — by a clogged filter or debris caught at the nozzle — the motor sustains a high-draw condition long enough to trigger the BMS protection circuit. The pack shuts output, cools for a moment, then resets. If this happens repeatedly, inspect the filter and nozzle for blockage before replacing the battery. A fully clear airpath keeps current draw within the BMS threshold.
