- 1954 and P481 series fit: These models share the same 14.4V battery platform, connector orientation, and BMS handshake protocol. The cell pack, contact placement, and latch geometry are identical across the 1954, 1954+, and P481-14 variants — one battery covers all of them.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through the full charge and discharge cycle on a 1954 unit. - Dock charging habit for this vacuum: Do not leave the BOLT on the charging dock permanently. Cordless vacuums in continuous dock charge develop capacity fade significantly faster than those charged only when depleted. Charge to full and remove from the dock.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low on the BOLT 1954
This happens when the motor draws more current than rated — usually because the filter is partially blocked or the brush roll is restricted by pet hair. The BMS reads an elevated current spike and begins throttling output voltage before the charge gauge visibly drops. The vacuum feels like a dying battery when it is actually a restricted airflow problem. Clear the filter and brush roll first, then retest under normal load.
Motor cutting out and recovering mid-clean on the BOLT vacuum
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a faulty battery. When suction is blocked — packed filter, jammed brush roll, hose obstruction — the motor strains against the restriction and current draw spikes past the BMS threshold. The protection circuit cuts power for two to three seconds, then resets. Fix the blockage first. If cut-outs continue on a clear filter with a new battery, check that resting voltage at full charge reads 16.4V — anything below 15.8V after a full charge cycle indicates a charger or contact issue.
