This 7.4V 4700mAh (34.78Wh) lithium-polymer pack replaces the BP5210 battery in BK Precision 2510 and 2512 portable digital oscilloscopes. These instruments run field diagnostics and circuit troubleshooting away from AC power, so a degraded cell directly interrupts measurement work. Replacing the pack restores full portable operating capacity to the oscilloscope.

BMS lockout after the 2510 sat unused in a carry case for months

Li-Polymer cells self-discharge slowly during storage. If the 2510 sat long enough, the pack voltage can drop below the BMS recovery threshold — typically around 2.5V per cell — and the BMS enters a latched protection state. In that state the oscilloscope shows no charge activity and may not power on at all. Connect the instrument to its charger and leave it untouched for 30–60 minutes; many BMS circuits require a trickle-charge stimulus at the charger's recovery voltage before they exit lockout and accept a normal charge cycle.

Oscilloscope shuts down mid-measurement with no low-battery warning

This is a voltage-sag cutoff, not a capacity problem. Under sustained acquisition load — especially with active probes drawing current simultaneously — an aged or partially discharged cell can sag below the BMS undervoltage trip point faster than the fuel gauge updates the display. The instrument cuts power to protect the cells before the low-battery indicator triggers. If this happens on a new pack, verify the post-install calibration cycle was completed; without it, the instrument's voltage-threshold map is offset from the actual cell curve, and the BMS trip appears earlier than it should.
