The SRB 10's Class D amplifier needs a stable supply voltage to drive clean audio output. The amplifier hits its minimum rail voltage first, causing audible distortion or clipping while the charge LED still shows one or two bars. SRB 10 won't wake from USB charge after sitting unused for months
A Li-Polymer cell left uncharged for several months can self-discharge below the USB charge controller's minimum acceptance threshold — typically around 2.5V for this cell chemistry. Below that point the controller sees the cell as a fault condition and refuses to start charging. Connecting a USB cable produces no response: no LED, no charge current. Most chargers that support a trickle pre-charge mode will recover the cell — apply a 50mA trickle until the cell climbs back above 3.0V, then resume normal charging.
