GPS accuracy reduced at low battery on the Navi GPS
When cell voltage drops below roughly 3.5V, the Blaupunkt Navi GPS reduces receiver sensitivity to protect remaining charge. That power-saving step cuts signal gain, which degrades positional accuracy and can cause the track to drift or jump. You may notice the map dot lagging road position by 20–50 metres before any low-battery warning appears on screen. Keeping the cell above 3.6V during active navigation avoids this sensitivity reduction entirely.
Device shuts off without warning before the battery indicator reaches empty
After extended cell degradation, the on-screen battery gauge loses calibration because it was profiled against the original cell's discharge curve. The firmware triggers a hardware cutoff at its internal voltage threshold — typically 3.3V — while the indicator still shows one bar remaining. A fresh cell re-aligns the real voltage with the displayed level. After fitting, run one full charge-to-cutoff cycle so the BMS can re-calibrate its state-of-charge estimate against the new cell's curve.
