GPS accuracy dropping at low battery on the TP300
The TP300's GPS receiver draws consistent current to maintain satellite lock, but when cell voltage drops toward the 3.2–3.3V range, the unit begins reducing receiver sensitivity to protect remaining charge. This shows up as position drift, slower route recalculation, or the unit struggling to maintain lock in areas where it previously had no trouble. It is not a GPS hardware fault — it is a power-management response. Keeping the cell above 3.5V during active navigation avoids this behaviour entirely.
TP300 shutting off without a low-battery warning
After a battery swap, the TP300's charge-level indicator needs a full charge-discharge cycle to recalibrate its voltage-to-percentage mapping. Until that cycle completes, the unit may display three battery bars and then cut off without warning — the shutdown threshold is being hit before the visual indicator catches up. Run one full charge from flat to 100%, then use the device on battery until it powers off on its own. After that cycle, the low-battery warning will appear at the correct point before cutoff.
