- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through a full discharge and charge on a D130 unit. The BMS accepted the charge cycle cleanly, the protection circuit tripped correctly at the low-voltage cutoff, and the phone completed the cycle without thermal events.
- Fuel gauge recalibration after swap: On first use after installing this cell, run one complete discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% before using the phone normally. This gives the fuel gauge IC a reference curve matched to the new cell, not the worn-out original.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the BLU Dash after a cell swap
This happens because the fuel gauge IC still holds the discharge curve from the degraded original cell. When the new cell hits a voltage point the old curve mapped to 20–30%, the IC signals a shutdown before the cell is actually empty. A single full discharge-to-shutdown followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% resets the coulomb counter and eliminates these early cutoffs. After that cycle, the reported percentage tracks accurately against the new cell's actual voltage curve.
BLU Dash not powering on after the replacement battery sat in storage
Li-ion cells in storage self-discharge over time. If the cell voltage drops below approximately 2.5V, the BMS trips into deep-discharge lockout and the phone will not respond to a normal power button press. Connect the phone to a charger and leave it for 15–20 minutes without pressing anything — the charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the BMS recovery threshold. Once the phone shows any charging indicator, a full charge cycle will bring it back to normal operation.
