About this replacement
BLU Dash 5.5 / D470 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (C816704260L)
This is a 3.7V, 2150mAh (7.96Wh) Li-ion replacement battery for the BLU Dash 5.5 smartphone, covering model variants D470, D470U, and D470L. It replaces OEM part number C816704260L. If your original cell holds a short charge or the phone shuts off unexpectedly, this cell is a direct swap.
- D470, D470U, D470L compatibility: All three variants share the same 3.7V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake — one cell covers the entire D470 line without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and load discharge on the D470 platform. The BMS accepted charge without tripping, and voltage held stable under combined screen and modem load.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: After installing this cell, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge down to auto-shutoff before charging fully. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging begins on an uncalibrated cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the BLU Dash 5.5
A worn cell loses the ability to sustain voltage under high-current draw from the modem radio or display backlight. The phone reads 25% remaining but the cell voltage collapses below the BMS cutoff threshold the moment load spikes. The OS never sees a low-voltage warning — it just cuts off. Replacing the cell resolves this, but one full recalibration cycle is needed before the fuel gauge IC reports accurate percentages again.
Phone not powering on after extended storage
If a BLU Dash 5.5 sits unused for weeks with a degraded cell, the battery can drop below 2.5V — the point where the BMS locks out charging entirely to prevent cell damage. Plugging in a standard charger does nothing at this voltage. Use a charger that supports trickle or recovery mode, or apply a short burst from a bench power supply at 3.0V to bring the cell above the BMS re-enable threshold before charging normally.
