- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the B350-XT platform. The BMS accepted the new pack without error, and the base station displayed charge state correctly after the first full charge cycle completed.
- First-cycle base station logging: On first use, seat the headset in the base station and allow a full, uninterrupted charge cycle before making a call. The base logs the new cell during that first cycle — skipping it causes the talk-time estimate to read inaccurately for the first few uses.
Talk time shorter than expected on the first few cycles
A fresh Li-Polymer cell does not deliver full capacity immediately. The B350-XT draws current across two loads simultaneously — the audio amplifier and the Bluetooth radio — so any shortfall in cell capacity shows up quickly during calls. Capacity climbs incrementally over three to five full charge-discharge cycles as the cell conditions. After cycle five, measured capacity at the cell terminals should reach close to the rated 300mAh.
Base station showing full charge but headset cuts off after short use
This happens when the replacement cell arrives at storage voltage — typically around 3.6V — and the base misreads it as already charged. The BMS has not completed a full charge cycle, so the cell is not actually at capacity. Remove the headset, leave the base powered on, reseat the headset, and wait for the charge indicator to cycle through a complete charge sequence from start to full. Once that first full cycle finishes, the cutoff issue resolves.
