Li-ion cells under voltage sag deliver less current to the motor before the indicator circuit registers a low-battery condition. On the Bob PetHair, a clogged filter forces the motor to draw above its rated current, which accelerates that sag. The battery reads "charged" while the motor is already starved. Clean the filter first — if suction recovers, the battery was not the root cause.
Motor cuts out mid-cycle then restarts on its own
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a battery failure. When the suction path is restricted — blocked brush roll, full dustbin, or a clogged filter — the motor pulls sustained current above the BMS threshold. The pack cuts the circuit as a protection response, then resets once current drops. Clear the restriction, then check that cell voltage is above 14.0V before concluding the pack is at fault.
