Charger not recognising pack after extended storage
Ni-MH cells that have sat unused for several months can drop below the voltage floor the Bosch charger uses to confirm a valid pack is present. The charger reads the resting voltage, sees it below approximately 18V, and refuses to start a charge cycle. Connect the pack to the charger and hold it in place for up to five minutes — some Bosch chargers will attempt a recovery trickle before switching to a full charge cycle. If the charger still does not respond, a brief boost from a bench supply at 22V for 60 seconds is enough to bring the cells above the acceptance threshold.
