Bosch BBHL2214 Series — 21.6V Li-ion Replacement Battery (908BPV216)
This 21.6V 2500mAh Li-ion battery replaces OEM part 908BPV216 in the Bosch BBHL2214 and BBHL2214TW cordless handheld vacuum cleaners. It slots directly into the battery bay and connects to the onboard BMS through the same five-pin interface as the original cell pack. Capacity is 2500mAh (54Wh), matching the factory specification.
- BBHL2214 and BBHL2214TW fit: Both models run the same 21.6V motor rail, share the same battery bay geometry, and use the same BMS handshake protocol. One battery covers both variants — no firmware or connector difference between them.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through the BBHL2214 charge cycle and confirmed the BMS accepted the cell pack without fault codes. The protection circuit responded correctly to sustained motor load, cutting draw at the rated threshold before cell voltage could sag below recovery floor.
- Dock charging discipline on cordless vacuums: Do not leave the BBHL2214 on the charging dock permanently. Continuous trickle charge on Li-ion cells causes measurable capacity fade over weeks. Charge to full, then remove the battery or the vacuum from the dock until the next use.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low on the BBHL2214
This is a voltage sag symptom, not a capacity failure. When the filter is partially blocked, the motor draws more current than rated to maintain fan speed. The extra current draw pulls cell voltage down faster than normal, and the motor loses torque before the indicator registers a low-battery state. Clean or replace the filter first — if suction recovers, the battery is not the cause. If sag continues with a clean filter, the cell pack has degraded and the internal resistance is too high to sustain the motor's peak draw.
Motor cuts out mid-use then restarts after a short pause
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a loose connection. On the BBHL2214, sustained restricted airflow — usually a clogged filter or blocked nozzle — forces the motor to draw current above the BMS protection threshold. The BMS interrupts the circuit to protect the cells, and the motor stops. After a brief rest, the protection circuit resets and the motor restarts. Clear the blockage, check the filter, and confirm the nozzle path is unobstructed. If the cut-out recurs with a clean, unblocked vacuum, measure pack voltage under load — a healthy cell should hold above 19.5V during motor start.
